Joaquín Aldunate's 'Autotel'

EP: Sequencer

Self-release
Digital release date: July 15, 2025
'Sequencer' by Autotel is more than an EP—it is a journey through playful rhythms, nostalgic summers, and intimate connections, all crafted to engage listeners in a multisensory experience.

The EP emerged from experimenting with different sequencers, allowing Autotel to explore sounds in a spontaneous and intuitive manner.

The first two tracks, 'Percmachine' and 'Hello,' showcase his shift towards a more live-oriented approach, prioritizing emotional expression over conventional composition techniques. These tracks were developed using Ableton and Maschine, tools that Autotel rarely utilizes but finds effective for merging live jamming with studio production.

'Percmachine' captures the whimsical side of Autotel’s personality, featuring playful rhythms, a catchy staccato melody, and a humorous party siren. This track highlights his desire to foster a more playful connection in his life and resonated so deeply during its creation that it was imperative it be shared.

Several tracks, including 'Maullín,' originated from sketches on an Electribe sequencer, crafted specifically for dance floor energy. 'Maullín' is a homage to the river in Chile where Autotel has formed a deep connection, embodying the essence of a Southern summer. It includes a field recording from the Maullín River, adding an authentic layer to the track's ambient feel.

'Old Groove' and 'General Tern' began as small Electribe loops intended for live use. Autotel decided to evolve these pieces, enriching their timbres and transforming them into full tracks that extend beyond their original live loop confines.
